After Harvey Elliott's standout loan in 2020/21, it would be hard to image another Liverpool loanee making as much of an impression at Blackburn Rovers.

Yet, if Owen Beck continues in his current vain of form, he might give Elliott a run for his money. He is the latest in a five-man line to have made the temporary switch from Merseyside to Lancashire.

The likes of Leighton Clarkson and Billy Koumetio didn't work out. Tyler Morton was somewhere in the middle. But Beck has already got his own song on the terraces and has made a very early impression.

It was a big vote of confidence from John Eustace when, after returning from a three-game ban, Beck was put straight back in ahead of Harry Pickering, who has barely missed a match since signing for Rovers.

Beck is enjoying the challenge and intensity the Championship brings and hopes to keep producing performances that have made him an instant hit.

"It's a very intense league, the games come thick and fast and faster than what I experience in Scotland," he reflected.

"Getting through three games in a week was tough but I'm glad I got that in my legs and I want to find another gear now. I feel like I have another one to show and I hope to do that.

"The support I have received since coming here has been great. I really appreciate that and I think it can bring the best out of me. Hearing them sing my name is a great feeling. It gives you a bit of extra confidence.

"I know first impressions are a big thing. I know I've got to keep playing well and I've really settled in. I feel like a Blackburn Rovers player.

"I want to have a positive impact whilst I'm here and keep improving. I have a lot to prove and I want to do that.

"I've felt a lot of trust from the manager, he's been very good for me. I am trying to repay him with my performances. We've had talks this week about parts of my game I can improve.

"This time on loan is a time to show what I can do but show where I can develop."

Liverpool will have an eye on Beck's development as they plan their squad for next season. Connor Bradley's success at Bolton Wanderers, which earned him an instant first-team spot, is the inspiration for the Welshman and many others.

"They have a loans manager at Liverpool who is in contact with me quite a lot. Sometimes the assistant or someone on the coaching staff will give me a ring," he said.

"They just ask how it's going, they watch some of the games. Someone was there against Watford so they're checking in on me.

"Sometimes, they'll let the loan be and let me enjoy it and sometimes they find the time to call me and ask a few questions, give some feedback. It's a bit of both.

"You are always thinking and looking at players who have gone through a similar journey of being on loan and making the step up. But for me, I am taking everything game by game, I don't want to focus on what happens when I go back.

"I'm finding my feet in the Championship, I want to show what I can do and be the best full-back in the league."
