John Eustace felt a draw was the fair result after Blackburn Rovers and West Brom cancelled each other out.

It ended goalless at Ewood Park which ends Rovers' perfect start at home in the Championship. But they remain unbeaten and recorded a fourth successive Ewood clean sheet for the first time since March 2023.

The best chances of the game fell to the full-backs whilst Yuki Ohashi also had a sight of goal in the second half. In truth, it was an even contest between two good teams where defences were on top.

That was Eustace's reading of the 90 minutes too and although Rovers set out to win the game, he was happy to come away with a point.

"We came up against one of the top teams in the league but I felt we held our own," Eustace said.

"We gave a very good account of ourselves and I'm delighted with another clean sheet. That's five from 11 games and that is pleasing.

"We showed good quality, at times, as well, against a very well-drilled team defensively. I was very pleased with the efforts.

"I think a draw was definitely a fair result and it's a good point. Both teams had a good go at it and tried to break the defences down.

"They had a couple of good chances in the first half from us not doing our jobs properly. But apart from that, we limited them to half chances in the second half.

"We had a great chance with Yuki (Ohashi) going through. You'd always back him but he can't score all the time! I think a draw was a fair result."

West Brom felt they could've had a second-half penalty when Darnell Furlong went down under Todd Cantwell's challenge. Referee John Busby waved away the claims.

Eustace dismissed the suggestion it could've been a spot-kick due to a lack of contract, from his initial viewing.

"I didn't think it was a penalty, not at all," he said.

"I don't even know if he touched him from where I am. Darnell gets in front of him and he has fallen over. I don't think it was a pen from where I was."
