Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.
Aynsley Pears - 7
Didn't have much to but controlled his area well. Only two major sights of his goal both went wide though he saved well from Grant and Molumby.
Joe Rankin-Costello - 8
Was Rovers' biggest attacking threat in the first half, linking up nicely with Hedges. Two shots just narrowly wide.
Hayden Carter - 6
Had to come off after half an hour. Twisted in the box as West Brom attacked and couldn't put much weight on his right leg as he left the pitch.
Dom Hyam - 8
Handled the threat of Maja with minimal fuss. The West Brom number nine didn't have a sniff at goal.
Owen Beck - 7
Strong up and down the left again. Didn't get forward loads but kept Fellows and Diangana very quiet.
Lewis Travis - 8
Rovers' pressing on midfield was excellent. They won the ball back consistently and gave the defence good protection.
Sondre Tronstad - 8
Equally deserving of praise as the captain. Very calm and composed on the ball.
Ryan Hedges - 7
Really bright first half where he linked play and combined well with Rankin-Costello. Quieter in the second half and was substituted on the hour.
Tyrhys Dolan - 6
A quieter night for Dolan who wasn't massively in the game. Switched out to the right for the last 20 minutes but didn't get much more joy. Worked hard for the team as usual.
Todd Cantwell - 8
Knitted play together whenever he was on the ball. Looked best when he drifted from the left and linked up with his team-mates.
Yuki Ohashi - 8
Won't get the plaudits because he didn't score or have many touches but he pressed so well. His hold-up play was great and he was a real nuisance for the West Brom defenders.
Substitutes:
Danny Batth (Carter, 33') - 8
Solid when he came on. Didn't put a foot wrong.
Andi Weimann (Hedges 63') - 6
Came on and played in the number 10 role. Didn't see lots of the play as WBA grew stronger.
Callum Brittain (Dolan, 82') - N/A
Late change to add more protection as West Brom rallied.
Arnor Sigurdsson (Cantwell, 82') - N/A
Brought on the left for Cantwell.
Makhtar Gueye (Ohashi, 82') - N/A
A useful addition from set-pieces after Ohashi ran himself into the ground.
Unused substitutes: Toth, Pickering, Buckley, Baker.
Referee: John Busby
Attendance: 13,647
