Swansea City have been given a major worry ahead of facing Blackburn Rovers after star attacker Eom Ji-Sung was seen on crutches after getting injured on international duty.

John Eustace's side host the Swans at Ewood Park after the international break, hoping to maintain their 100% start to the season at home. Swansea have had a mixed bag of results, with 12 points after three wins, draws and defeats.

Their chances of a positive result against Rovers had been handed a setback after Ji-Sung picked up what could be a serious injury with South Korea.

The forward has been one of Luke Williams' best attackers this term, signing from Gwangju FC in the summer. His form earned him a recall with the national team.

He was introduced as an early substitute himself after Wolves' Hwang Hee-Chan suffered an injury. But just five minutes into the second half, he suffered his own problem, a knee injury that left him on crutches.

South Korea won 2-0 but images after the game showed the 22-year-old limping on crutches across the pitch. Manager Hong Myung-bo confirmed he would undergo scans back in South Korea today.

Swansea are not blessed with attacking talent and so losing Ji-Sung would be a major blow. Former Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom attacker, Adam Reach, is currently on trial.

The need for reinforcements could be heightened if Ji-Sung's injury is indeed long-term. That would increase Reach's chances of earning a contract, having left the Baggies in the summer at the end of his deal.

Former Preston North End and Hull City defender Cyrus Christie is also training with the Welsh club, having been there in 2022. Like Reach, he's been without an employer since the summer and is looking to earn a deal.

Williams said: "Potentially we're having a look at a player in the international break when it's a bit calmer.

"Otherwise a player coming in to train with us so we can see them and they can see us is very, very difficult when you're playing three games in a week and travelling. So, we're possibly looking at the international break."
