Milutin Osmajic has been slapped with an eight-game ban by the FA for biting Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck.

The Preston North End striker has been able to play for the last two games despite being charged for sinking his teeth into the young Welshman, scoring twice against Watford on Wednesday night.

Osmajic admitted he was guilty on Monday but it's only today, Friday, that The FA have now banned him. Unsurprisingly, it's a heavy punishment, ruling him out the next eight fixtures.

The Montenegro striker now can't play for North End until November 23. The forward has also been given a 15K fine for his actions.

A club statement from Preston said they will not make further comment until the written reasons are published, potentially suggesting they might appeal.

"Preston North End acknowledge the decision of an independent Regulatory Commission to give Milutin Osmajić an eight-match suspension and fine the striker £15,000," they said.

"The Montenegro international has been sanctioned after admitting he had committed an act of violent conduct around the 87th minute of the recent Sky Bet Championship match against Blackburn Rovers.

"PNE will be making no further comment until the Independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons have been published."
