Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Aynsley Pears - 5

Didn't have much chance with the first two but perhaps he should've done better with the third. Wasn't overworked despite Coventry being the better side.

Hayden Carter - 4

Looked like a centre-back playing at right-back for the first time. Struggled against the lightning pace of Wright down the left.

Danny Batth - 5

Could've perhaps done a little better when Wright dipped inside him for the second. Though it wasn't a great position the defence had been put in.

Dom Hyam - 6

A few important blocks after dangerous Coventry attacks. Had a proper battle with Thomas-Asante.

Harry Pickering - 5

Didn't offer enough going forward down the left, though he put his hand up to play after illness.

Lewis Travis - 5

Struggled to gain any real control in midfield. Looked like he ran out of gas in the second half.

Sondre Tronstad - 5

Like Travis, just couldn't get to grips with the central area. Ben Sheaf dominated in there.

Andi Weimann - 4

Was surprised Eustace left him on for the 90', he looked a bit tired when the changes were made.

Tyrhys Dolan - 4

Struggled to get into the game in the first half though looked like he might create something with Cantwell. Bad mistake to give the ball away which led to the Coventry second.

Todd Cantwell - 6

Tried to make things happen and looked the most likely but had to be withdrawn on 70'. A frustrating night where he didn't see enough of the ball.

Yuki Ohashi - 5

Didn't get much service but didn't do much with it when he had it. Hasn't looked like the solution when playing with one striker away from home.

Substitutes:

Ryan Hedges (Dolan, 55') - 6

Didn't have any real impact after coming on. Switched to left-back as part of the changes.

Lewis Baker (Tronstad, 72') - 6

On as one of four changes. Rovers looked leggy in midfield and he tried to add some energy.

John Buckley (Travis 72') - 6

Same for Buckley. Given a tough task to turn it around from 2-0.

Amario Cozier-Duberry (Pickering, 72') - 6

Didn't have much opportunity to change the game. Should've been on sooner.

Makhtar Gueye (Cantwell, 72') - 6

Perhaps should've started the game and certainly should've been on at half-time. Rovers have struggled for a focal point away from home.

Unused substitutes: Toth, McFadzean, Rankin-Costello, Sigurdsson.
