Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Aynsley Pears - 7

Was a spectator for most of the match, in truth. Had little to do first half and even less in the second.

Hayden Carter - 7

Was tasked with getting forward and providing width on the right-hand side which he stuck at. Didn't have any concerns defensively.

Danny Batth - 8

Handled the physical threat of Frey well and turned in his first Rovers goal at the back post. Three league starts, three clean sheets for him.

Dom Hyam - 7

Didn't put a foot wrong, like the rest of the defence.

Harry Pickering - 6

Taken off at the break as part of the reshuffle. Good enough defensively but had little to worry about.

Lewis Travis - 7

Fired in from the edge of the box on his 200th career start. Buzzed around and won plenty of tackles. Taken off on a yellow with 15 to go.

Sondre Tronstad - 7

Solid in the middle of midfield. It became a walk in the park once the goals went in during the second half.

Andi Weimann - 7

Drifted inside from a wide right role and forced a good save from Nardi in the first half.

Tyrhys Dolan - 8

The brightest of the starting front four. A few lovely weighted passes and some nice link-up with Cantwell down the left.

Ryan Hedges - 7

Asked to play left-back in the second half and did his job well. A few wayward crosses but he stuck at his task.

Yuki Ohashi - 6

Worked hard as ever up front on limited service. Only had one real opportunity to score but he opted to cut inside and the chance was lost.

Substitutes:

Todd Cantwell (Pickering, 45') - 9

The game changer off the bench. Everything flowed through him for 25 minutes after he came on. Delicious cross for Batth's goal. Great for him to get 45 minutes under his belt.

Makhtar Gueye, (Ohashi, 64') - 6

Didn't get much sight at goal other than a very speculative shot from 40 yards with the goalkeeper out of his goal.

Joe Rankin-Costello (Hedges, 76') - 6

On at left-back for the last 15.

John Buckley (Travis, 76') - 6

Some minutes in the tank with the game sewn up.

Amario Cozier-Duberry (Weimann, 76') - 6

Introduced off the right with Rovers in full control.

Unused substitutes: Toth, McFadzean, Duru, Baker.
