Arnor Sigurdsson and Callum Brittain remain doubts for Blackburn Rovers this weekend.

Brittain has missed the last two Championship games with a knee injury. He has been back in training this week and will be assessed before the weekend.

Sigurdsson remains touch and go too after illness. The Icelandic forward has also missed the games against Bristol City and Preston North End for this reason.

It appears that, despite travelling with the squad on Sunday to Deepdale, Sigurdsson remains unwell and the issue is being looked into further.

"Siggy has had a really tough couple of weeks," Eustace said.

"He's had an illness for two weeks. We're trying to get to the bottom of it now so he will be touch and go for the weekend.

"It's important that we try and get Siggy right. He's an important part of the squad. You can see that with the goal he scored against Oxford that he has got real quality so we want to get him back in the squad as soon as we can.

"Callum is touch and go, we thought he was close last week. He's been on the grass and we'll see how he is at the end of the week."

Owen Beck will also be unavailable to Rovers. The club opted not to appeal his red card over fears he could be banned for longer.

"We didn't think we should appeal," Eustace explained.

"It's a 50-50 one and the problem is when you appeal and the FA decide it's a red card, they can add one or two games on top of that.

"We don't want to lose Owen for any more matches. He's had a fantastic impact in the team, he will be a miss but we have Harry Pickering who can come in and do a very good job.

"You always learn from these situations, it's a big derby and a good experience for him. He's disappointed, he thinks he's let us down but he hasn't, it's fine.

"This is part of his development and learning. We have a fantastic group of players and nobody will ever intentionally get sent off and let the boys down.

"It's the heat of the moment stuff and the important thing is to learn from it."
