Midfielder Jalil Saadi has joined Cypriot side Ethinikos Achna on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old was involved in the early stages of pre-season but fell down the pecking order as John Eustace bulked out his Blackburn Rovers squad.

Saadi has been with Rovers for six seasons but is still waiting to make his breakthrough into the first-team picture. He signed a new one-year contract in the summer at Ewood Park, which also has an option of a further 12 months.

The Moroccan youth international is now the latest Rover to head on loan, something the club have been more proactive with this year.

Ethinikos currently sit in sixth place in the Cypriot First Division and Saadi could make his debut for his new side in the home encounter against Nea Salamis this weekend.

He becomes the second Rovers Academy player to exit on loan in the last week with Jordan Eastham joining Ashton United until January.

The 22-year-okld will be hoping for regular game time at the Northern Premier League side. He spent the end of last season with Hyde United and has previously had a spell at Lancaster City.
