Rovers have a number of players currently out on loan in the Football League and non-league pyramid. We have taken a loot at how they are getting on for their respective clubs.
Two loanees were on opposing sides in League One last weekend as Bristol Rovers went up against Cambridge.
Jake Garrett started in midfield for the Gas, while Connor O’Riordan was in the backline for the U’s at the Memorial Stadium.
The hosts secured the points thanks to a brace from Promise Omochere either side of half time, with both youngsters playing the full 90 minutes.
Bristol Rovers are now up to ninth in the table under Chorley-born Matt Taylor following back-to-back home wins in the league.
Meanwhile, Cambridge sit near the bottom after a tough start which has seen Garry Monk’s side take one point from their opening four matches.
It was Garrett’s first league start for the Gas after featuring against Cardiff and Tottenham’s youngsters in the Carabao Cup and Bristol Street Motors Trophy respectively.
He made a couple of important blocks against Cardiff and is already starting to become popular with the supporters.
Ahead of the Cambridge game, he told Bristol Live: "I am here for Bristol (Rovers) so I am playing for the badge, it is a big thing.
“I have been playing football since I was young so every tackle means something to me, every goal, even an assist. As long as I am helping the team it means something to me.
"At Blackburn, after a big tackle I would be going to the crowd because I have got the Blackburn badge on. Now, I am in Bristol so if I do a big block like I did against Cardiff, I am representing them.
"The fans have been really good, really welcoming on social media and stuff. I have had some really nice messages.
“As soon as I make a good tackle or a goal they will know my presence because I will go straight over to them.
"The first big tackle I ever did for Blackburn was against Sunderland and I did a fist bump to the crowd. Everyone started to get a feel for me then so as soon as that happens here, probably even a goal, the crowd will know I am here to work."
Elsewhere, Dilan Markanday has continued to get minutes under his belt at Chesterfield as the Spireites aim to build on last season’s promotion from the National League.
Markanday played 80 minutes in the 1-0 defeat at Gillingham last weekend. The wideman also came off the bench in the 1-0 win at Lincoln in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday night as Paul Cook’s side maintained an unbeaten start in the group stage.
Jack Vale didn’t have to wait long to make his Motherwell debut, playing the final 20 minutes of the 2-1 victory at St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon.
The 23-year-old had only joined the Scottish Premiership side a day earlier as he searches for regular minutes to continue his development.
Felix Goddard made another start between the sticks as Dundalk were beaten 1-0 by Shelbourne on Friday night.
The youngster was unfortunate to concede to Aiden O’Brien after initially saving Ali Coote’s effort.
Dundalk remain at the foot of the League of Ireland table – a point behind ninth-place Drogheda with a game in hand.
Kristi Montgomery got more minutes under his belt at Marine, starting the goalless draws against Leamington and Rushall Olympic.
Finally, Nick Michalski experienced a penalty shoot-out after Bamber Bridge’s FA Cup first-round qualifying tie against Newton Aycliffe finished 1-1 after 120 minutes. Brig were eventually beaten 5-3 in the shoot-out.
