John Eustace hopes Todd Cantwell can reassert himself as one of the best players in the Championship after joining Blackburn Rovers.
The 26-year-old joined Rovers as their marquee signing on transfer deadline day, penning a three-year deal. Rovers made a strong play for Cantwell amidst strong competition from other clubs, tabling a competitive offer to acquire him from Rangers.
He will add creativity to the final third with competition for places high. Rovers have seven players competing for three spots behind their number nine, with Cantwell best used as a number 10.
Eustace was very pleased the club secured their top target and was happy with the overall business. Rovers made 10 additions in total, with five of those coming in the final week of the window.

"Todd was the number one target for the club and they brought him in which was great," Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph.
"Hopefully, he can establish himself again as a top Championship player. We will give him the environment to do that. Everyone is happy he is here."
"I think the club have brought in the players they wanted to bring in, which is great. They are all good characters.
"They all have a point to prove so I'm sure they will all be good additions to what we already have got. I'm happy with the balance.
"We have more competition for places, we need that in all areas. They can help the squad. There are no egos, whoever is playing, they will be together and we can make changes.
"That's what it's about if we're going to be successful in the league."
Rovers have benefitted from their other new signings hitting the ground running. Makhtar Gueye, Yuki Ohashi and Andi Weimann are all off the mark which eased the pressure in the final few days.
Filling the void left by Sam Szmodics won't be easy but Rovers feel they have spread the burden this year. Whilst nobody may hit the 20-goal mark, they have strength in numbers and far more depth across their attack.
That was illustrated by Weimann on Saturday, who came in for his first Championship start and scored the all-important equaliser.
"That's why we brought him in," Eustace said on Weimann.
"It doesn't matter how old he is or how young he is. When you have a player of that quality who can come to the football club, you can see the impact he'd had on and off the pitch.
"He's scored so many goals and we're very fortunate he decided to sign here. I'm very proud of his performance.
"What he brings is class on and off the pitch. Everyone was very proud of the performance and the display of the fans was outstanding. They got us through difficult moments and with ten men they got us going."
