Blackburn Rovers have announced that Jack Vale has rejoined Scottish side Motherwell on a season-long loan.
The 23-year-old will spend the campaign back in Scotland after impressing with the club last season. Vale joined them in January after struggling at Lincoln in the first half of the 2023/24 season.
Vale is now into the final 12 months of his Rovers contract but there is an option to extend it by another year. John Eustace has used him throughout pre-season and started him against Blackpool in the Carabao Cup.
However, with Rovers hopeful of more additions themselves on transfer deadline day, it was always like he'd leave in one capacity or another.
"Jack's done very well during pre-season, he's scored a lot of goals," Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph on Thursday.
"His performance on Tuesday (vs Blackpool) was good, he was a threat. The next couple of days will be about helping him to continue his development as a Blackburn player.
"IF that means going out on loan again, that might be an option. If not, he'll still be developing here in the right way. We've all worked very hard with him and you can see the progression in his play over the last seven or eight weeks whilst he's been here."
