Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Balazs Toth for an undisclosed fee.

The Hungarian goalkeeper becomes their sixth summer addition, penning a three-year deal at Ewood Park. However, the deal is subject to international clearance and until that is granted, he can't feature for Rovers. That puts any involvement against Burnley in doubt.

Rovers have spent the summer looking for a new goalkeeper after the sale of Leopold Wahlstedt. They enquired about several shot-stoppers, domestically and abroad, but now have their man.

The 26-year-old will compete with Aynsley Pears for the number one shirt in the coming months. John Eustace has stressed the importance of competition in every position and therefore signing another senior goalkeeper was essential.

Toth should be registered in time to feature against Burnley in the East Lancs derby. However, it's unlikely he'd be thrown in at the deep end, in Championship terms, unless necessary.

He joins Lewis Baker in strengthening John Eustace's squad ahead of transfer deadline day. The midfielder has signed on a season-long loan from Stoke City.

Toth's arrival takes the tally to seven, six new signings plus the return of Kyle McFadzean.

Todd Cantwell is also likely to arrive before the 11pm deadline. He's undergoing a medical with personal terms being thrashed out.

A wide player or two are still likely as well. Brighton & Hove Albion's Amario Cozier-Duberry is a primary target, however, they're also looking at Fulham's Martial Bodo. They could even end up with both in a manic transfer deadline day dash.

Jack Vale is the only expected departure. The striker travelled up to Scotland on Thursday night to complete a return to Motherwell.
