Burnley attacker Zeki Amdouni has joined Portugese outfit Benfica on a season-long loan.

Amdouni arrived at Turf Moor in the summer of 2023 and scored six goals in 37 appearances last term as the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League.

The 23-year-old scored in the 5-0 win against Cardiff earlier this month. He also came off the bench at Sunderland last weekend.

He also represented Switzerland in the Euros over the summer, scoring a penalty in the shoot-out against England in the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, Wout Weghorst has completed a permanent move to Ajax for an undisclosed fee.

The Dutch international joined the Clarets from Wolfsburg in January 2022 and has since had loan spells at Besiktas, Manchester United and Hoffenheim.

“Wout stands for an absolute top sports experience, and we find that extremely important,” said Ajax technical director Alex Kroes.

“He is a prolific striker who constantly makes things difficult for every opponent.

“There are many matches coming up in the next few months, so we are happy that Wout is joining us.”
