Two goals in six minutes saw Blackburn Rovers knocked out of the Carabao Cup as Blackpool came from behind to win 2-1 at Ewood Park.
Rovers had looked on course for a place in round three until the Seasiders turned the match on its head. Makhtar Gueye had them in front from the penalty spot after 20 minutes.
Arnor Sigurdsson was brought down by Oliver Casey in the area and the striker dispatched the spot-kick for his second of the season, both the cup.
But Rovers never put the game to bed and they were punished. Oliver Norburn had already hit the crossbar before they eventually levelled.
Rob Apter got down the Blackpool right and sent a lovely cross into the box which Jake Beesley tapped home for 1-1 with 20 to go.
Richard Keogh's side then completed the turnaround six minutes later as Hayden Coulson robbed Joe Rankin-Costello on the egde of his box, raced through and finished to send the away side into raptures.
Rovers tried to respond with Ryan Hedges and Sigurdsson going close and testing the reflexes of Richard O'Donnell but it proved in vain as their Carabao Cup journey came to an end.
As expected, Eustace rotated his squad with seven changes in all, one extra from the last round at Stockport County.
Leo Duru was handed his full debut after an impressive cameo at Edgeley Park, with Danny Batth also coming into the defence. John Buckley, Andi Weimann, Makhtar Gueye and Jack Vale also came in whilst Arnor Sigurdsson was rewarded for his match-winning goal against Oxford United with a start.
Harry Pickering was once again in the starting line-up but Rovers have at least moved to ease his burden. Owen Beck was confirmed on loan from Liverpool pre-match to add much-needed competition and cover at left-back.
It promises to be a busy end to the week at Rovers and the 22-year-old should only be the start. On the pitch, a derby double would send supporters into the international break with a skip in their step.
That metaphorical spring was shown in action by Duru as he shone on his debut. The young right-back created the first chance of the match, skipping past his man effortlessly before rolling in Gueye but his finish was wild and into the side netting.
It proved to be a warning for Blackpool though as Rovers soon carved them open again. John Buckley's ball into Gueye was pushed in-behind the defence for Sigurdsson to run onto and he was brought down by Casey.
No doubt about the penalty which Gueye duly turned in, sending O'Donnell the wrong way. That, remarkably, is Rovers' first penalty at Ewood Park since the 5-2 win against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup, exactly 11 months ago.
Duru was having plenty of fun down the right-hand side and looked like a constant threat whenever he picked up the ball. If this was an audition to prove Rovers can cross 'right-back' off their shopping list, he passed.
Blackpool offered very little threat but did have a sight at goal before the break. Apter's shot was parried by Aynsley Pears and the rebound fell to Elliot Embleton but he spooned over from 12 yards.
Rovers started the second half brightly and could've doubled their advantage within 10 minutes of the restart.
A lovely move started down the left with a low Pickering cross into Sigurdsson's feet; his first-time flick found the rampaging Hayden Carter but he shot over the bar.
Blackpool then provided a reminder they were still in the contest. A wicked delivery forced Pears to come and punch a cross and with Pickering down on the ground from the collision, Norburn's shot struck the bar and bounced out.
Whilst the Rovers goalkeeper hadn't had much to do, a one-goal lead is always a dangerous scoreline. They almost founded the game off shortly after though after a swift counter-attack.
Jack Vale burst past two men and was brought down but the ball broke to Gueye and he stroked it just wide of the post. That proved to be his last action as Eustace made five changes at once to freshen things up.
However, the changes didn't have the desired effect and made the team slightly lop-sided without a natural wing-back on the left. Blackpool, then equalised, down that side...
Apter fizzed a low ball across the box which was begging for a touch and Beesley obliged, bringing the Seasiders level with 20 minutes remaining.
What wasn't in the script was another goal for the away side, six minutes later. This one was all of Rovers' own doing.
Rankin-Costello was caught on the ball outside his own box and Coulson, who robbed him, and he raced through to slot past Pears to turn the match on its head.
Rovers were at sixes and sevens defensively. Pears had to be down sharply to keep out Apter from making it three with the tide suddenly against them.
The final 10 minutes was filled with home dominance though as they piled forward for an equaliser. Hedges and Sigurdsson both went close, forcing two good saves from O'Donnell.
Rovers couldn't find a way through though and fell to their first defeat of the season. Blackpool go through to round three, with attention now firmly fixed on the East Lancs derby.
