Blackburn Rovers have enquired about Mark Travers and he is one of three goalkeepers they are prioritising a move for, The Lancashire Telegraph understands.

Reports over the weekend suggested that the Bournemouth goalkeeper is a target for Rovers and that is the case. The Cherries are open to letting the Republic of Ireland international leave on loan with Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalga set to sign for them.

There is interest from Travers elsewhere too and so Rovers are not the only interested party. There are other options too, though, with three names at the top of their shortlist.

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Carl Rushworth is a target, though John Eustace was tight-lipped on that deal at the weekend. The Seagulls have been waiting for first-choice Bart Verbruggen to regain full fitness before sanctioning a loan.

Leicester City's Daniel Iversen is still a target too though his wages are quite high. Rovers' final decision will ultimately come down to their preference on the three, if the player wants to join them and the finances involved.

Siriki Dembele and Rabbi Matondo are amongst leading choices on the shortlist to bolster the attack. Eustace has worked with the Birmingham City forward, who has been left out of their last two squads, previously whilst Head of Recruitment John Park has links with Rangers.

Online speculation that John Buckley is leaving the club is wide of the mark. The midfielder has struggled for minutes but is expected to stay with Rovers keen to sign another player in that position too.

No first-team outgoings are planned, though Jack Vale could leave to join Motherwell on loan or even in a permanent deal. Some other young players could leave temporarily for first-team football but, otherwise, the focus is on adding to the squad.
