Burnley have completed the signing of defender Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal at Turf Moor to bolster Scott Parker's centre-back options.

Worrall has more than 200 appearances across the Premier League and Championship under his belt for Forest.

He also played in the Scottish Premiership and Turkish Super Lig during loan spells with Rangers and Besiktas respectively.

The defender can't wait to get started in East Lancashire and hopes he can help the Clarets make an immediate return to the top flight.

“I’m very happy to be a Burnley player," he told the club site. "I can’t wait to be involved and help get them back to the Premier League.

“It felt like home as soon as I walked through the door and that’s what I want it to be.

"I’m really looking forward to getting to know the people in and around the club, but also the fans. I want to strike up a bit of a rapport with them.

“I’m just looking forward to playing and winning games, that’s the main ambition for me - getting everybody on board with what we’re trying to do at the club and enjoying it as well."

Meanwhile, Michael Obafemi has joined Plymouth Argyle on a season-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old forward, who also had a spell at Millwall during the second half of last term, will now play under Wayne Rooney at Home Park.
