John Eustace has reiterated his desire for Blackburn Rovers to avoid any more player sales in the transfer window.

Sam Szmodics has been sold for an initial £9million whilst Sam Gallagher also left in a deal worth up to £1.6m.

Captain Lewis Travis has been linked with several Championship clubs throughout the summer, with Hull City the latest following previous interest from Sheffield United and Stoke City.

Aside from a few loans for younger players or those on the periphery, Eustace was adamant he does not expect any more senior players to leave the football club.

"No definitely not, I don't want anyone to leave," Eustace said.

"I don't want anyone to go, I want to build a team and a foundation here. I said that at the end of last season, I want to keep the whole group together.

"Unfortunately, we have lost Sammie (Szmodics). A few of the younger lads have gone out on loan to get experience. The only way to get success is to build properly and we have good foundations. We'll keep adding to that.

"You can see that he was a big loss to the team last season, I've admired him from afar at other clubs. To be working with him day in, day out, is a pleasure. He's the captain and a very important player for the squad.

"I was honest with him, he's an influential figure at the club and I wanted him back. I said that he'd be playing a big part in what we're doing, he's a fantastic player.

"Now he's back, playing well and there's more to come from him. We're fortunate that he's here."
