"Thank you for welcoming me and my family to this amazing club. It has been an unbelievable two years with highs and lows, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.

"The standout moments are, of course, my goal in the FA Cup against Sheffield United and the last game of the season at Leicester, securing another year in the Championship.

"Celebrating with the boys and the fans, was a dream come true. I feel honoured to have worn the blue and white halves and to have represented such a big club in the North-West.

"As everyone is well aware, the Premier League is a boy's dream and it would be silly of me not to explore this opportunity.

"Further thanks go to my team-mates, who have helped to push me in hard situations. Of course, thanks to all the staff behind the scenes and the two managers I've had. They have improved me not only as a player but also as a man.

"Lastly, thanks to the fans, who have supported me throughout. The support you have shown my family in the last two years is indescribable.

"The standard ovation I got in my last game at Ewood is something that will live with me forever. I hope I've had a positive impact on your Blackburn following, I'll continue to follow the club and I wish everyone the best success in the future."
