Dilan Markanday is in talks over a potential loan move to Chesterfield after missing the victory at Stockport County, The Lancashire Telegraph understands.

The 22-year-old was a surprise absentee from the matchday squad as Rovers put six goals past the Hatters in the Carabao Cup first round.

Markanday has struggled to nail down a regular first-term spot since moving to Rovers, instead featuring more from the bench and in cup games.

Eustace revealed the winger is in talks to go out for regular minutes this season.

"Dilan is away talking to another club at the moment to go on loan," Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"I think it's important that he gets a real run of games to keep his development going. Hopefully, we can see that get sorted.

"We could possibly see a few go on loan, yeah."

Jack Vale scored Rovers' sixth from the bench. On the striker's future, Eustace added: "Jack is someone who has taken his opportunity in pre-season, he's scored a couple of great goals.

"It's great he scored in a competitive game too. He's a good player, he's come through our system so we'll see with Jack, his attitude has been fantastic."

Arnor Sigurdsson is another player that has been linked away in the media this week. However, Eustace sees him as an important member of the squad and any exit wouldn't happen until another signing was lined up.

"He played today, we have Ryan Hedges who played there on Friday and we don't have many who can play on that side," he said.

"It's a position that is vital in the way we play. I thought Siggy did well today and it's important he keeps going and we'll wait and see."
