John Eustace doesn't expect Kyle McFadzean, Danny Batth or Andi Weimann to be available for several weeks as they build up their fitness.

Blackburn Rovers were busy in the transfer market last week, signing five new players, including those three as free agents.

None of the players were involved at Stockport County on Friday and instead training at the Senior Training Centre in the morning.

McFadzean hasn't had any opportunity to train in the last month, whilst Batth has been at Wolves with their Under-21s to keep sharp. Weimann has been training with Rovers for the last 10 days but all three are not up to full fitness.

Eustace admits it might take a few weeks for them to be involved in the Rovers set-up and casted doubt over any would be in contention against Derby County.

"They haven't been training, they have been doing their own work," he told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"It's completely different when you come back into the group. They will still be three, four weeks away, I think.

"We'll have to see about next week and whether they will be in contention."

All three players come with vast Championship experience, something Eustace has been desperate to add this summer. It was very evident last season that the squad lacked that pedigree in the squad.

Eustace believes all three will have a positive impact on the squad and younger players can learn from them.

By adding McFadzean and Batth, Rovers' recruitment at centre-back looks to be complete, with Hayden Carter, Dom Hyam and Connor O'Riordan giving the head coach five different options.

Weimann will add versatility from the front and his CV makes him the ideal person for Rovers' attackers to learn from.

"We have brought three players in that know the Championship inside out which is great for the group. They can learn from them and they will help the group," he said.

"The two strikers that have come in, the club have worked very hard, Adam Owen, Rudy Gestede and John Park, to target those two. I'm sure they will be a success. The contacts help with the recruitment."

"I think you saw how valuable Kyle's performances were last year and I think it brought the best out of Dom (Hyam) and Hayden (Carter)," he added.

"I'm happy with the centre-back options for sure, yeah.

"I think you look at Andi (Weimann)'s CV, he's just been to the Euros. It doesn't matter what he's done in the last few days, he's an experienced Championship player who knows the level inside out.

"He can help Ty, the two new lads, Hedgey, Joe (Rankin-Costello). It gives us another option in those front areas."
