Blackburn Rovers remain in talks with Ipswich Town over a deal for Sam Szmodics but no agreement has been reached, The Lancashire Telegraph understands.
Talks for Rovers' top-scorer have been ongoing for the last 10 days. Ipswich saw a bid rejected last week but are still keen to sign the 28-year-old.
Szmodics, somewhat understandably, is keen to make the switch to Suffolk too. His desire to move if a Premier League club called was made evident in May during an in-depth interview with No Tippy Tappy Football.
There is still an expectation that Rovers' star player will leave the club and join Kieran McKenna's side. However, at the time of writing, he remains at the Senior Training Centre with the clubs still trying to thrash out an agreement.

It's incredibly unlikely he will be involved at Stockport County on Friday even if he remains a Rovers player. With talks at an advanced stage, he won't be risked after also sitting out the games against FC Nurnberg and Wigan Athletic in recent weeks.
In terms of incomings, Danny Batth has completed his medical. The 33-year-old travelled to Brockhall yesterday after a deal was agreed for him to sign for Rovers.
Providing all goes to plan, he could be unveiled as a Rovers player later today. If not, a Friday announcement is likely. That should complete the club's recruitment at centre-back, with Dom Hyam, Hayden Carter, Batth, Kyle McFadzean and Connor O'Riordan competing for positions.
A goalkeeper remains an obvious need for Rovers but nothing is advanced at this stage. CEO Steve Waggott and Eustace have both referenced the need to add pace into the side and so a wide attacker is also being sought after.
Should Szmodics leave, a number 10 profile may be on the shopping list too. Eustace wants more players who have a pedigree of scoring goals in the Championship, especially if he loses his top-scorer.
