John Eustace is hopeful of bolstering his squad with Yuki Ohashi and Kyle McFadzean likely to join Blackburn Rovers next week.
Rovers are yet to make a senior signing this summer but the Japanese forward is set to land in the UK this weekend ahead of a move to Ewood Park.
Likewise, McFadzean has re-entered talks to join Rovers after his contract had expired on June 30. Both the player and Eustace had spoken about their desire to extend his stay but a deal didn't look forthcoming.
Rovers looked at Danny Batth and Liam Cooper, with Eustace coy on interest in either, but are now set to re-sign McFadzean for the 2024/25 season.

Asked about what Ohashi could add to the team, he told The Lancashire Telegraph: "I have only seen him very briefly, he hasn't signed yet so I don't want to comment on that too much.
"From what I've seen, he looks like a number nine who can score goals. That's it at the moment.
"Semir left and we need a like for like with that. Hopefully, if he does come in or whoever comes in, can contribute a bit more than he did."
McFadzean is likely to undergo a medical early next week ahead of returning to the club. Both players should be announced in a similar timeframe, if all goes to plan.
"I think with Kyle, his experience was there for everyone to see," Eustace explained on the 37-year-old.
"On and off the pitch, he was a real leader and he helped the group. If we can recruit players like that who are going to help this young group, you can see the quality of the young players tonight, but they need help.
"They need experience to help them. We need the right characters in and the right experience which will help to develop the group."
When asked whether there was frustration at the amount of time it had taken to agree a deal, he said: "I'm not worried about that at all. He's a sensible lad, he's a great professional and I'm sure he's been keeping himself very fit.
"If we're lucky enough to re-sign him then we will see how he is."
