Sam Szmodics has emerged as the most popular choice in the newly launched Fantasy EFL game.
Fantasy Premier League has been a huge success and supporters had been clamouring for an equivalent for clubs outside the top flight.
The new version features more than 2,000 players from across the Championship, League One and League Two.
Supporters pick seven players each week who they think will earn points by scoring goals, getting assists, keeping clean sheets and so on. Fans must also pick two clubs per week who they think will secure all three points.
So far, no player has been selected more than Rovers talisman Szmodics on the back of a remarkable campaign at Ewood Park. More than half of the supporters playing along have chosen the Irish international at the time of writing.
The next most popular player is Leeds youngster Crysencio Summerville, who impressed last term as the Elland Road club narrowly missed out on promotion back to the Premier League following defeat against Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley.
Ethan Ampadu, Illan Meslier and Calum O’Hare make up the top five in the Championship. The latter recently joined Sheffield United on a free transfer from Coventry as the Blades aim to bounce back from relegation from the top flight.
Other popular choices in the second tier include Anel Ahmedhodzic, Gabriel Sara, Perry Ng, Josh Brownhill and Emmanuel Latte Lath as the new season edges closer.
As for League One, Alfie May and Paul Mullin are viewed as two of the best options to have as they hope to have success with Birmingham and Wrexham respectively.
Billy Sharp tops the list in League Two following his return to Doncaster. The experienced forward was released by Hull earlier this summer and also had a stint in the United States with LA Galaxy.
The new game is available to play online and will also be launching on the App Store for Apple and Android users before the new season gets under way.
