Lawrence Vigouroux is hungry to prove himself in the Championship after completing a permanent move to Swansea.
Burnley have received an undisclosed fee for the goalkeeper, who has penned an initial two-year deal with an option for a further 12 months.
“I cannot wait to get started. I know a couple of the lads already – Joe Allen and Kyle Naughton - and I want to make the most of this opportunity,” he told the club website.
“This feels like it has been a long time coming and I have an opportunity now to train with a really good group of lads and a really good, quality squad.
“I just want to be as good as I can every single day. There is a really good squad here and we have to be aiming as high as we can, we have to be looking forward.
“This is a massive club. I know nothing is guaranteed, there are some really good goalkeepers I am going to work with every day.
“I am looking forward to this challenge, it’s not good to be comfortable in football. You have to be worried about who is behind you and who is in front of you. That’s very important, I think it brings out the best in everyone.”
The 30-year-old spent the past season at Turf Moor after joining from Leyton Orient but failed to make a senior appearance.
“Luke (Williams) played a massive part in my decision,” he added. “I think when you have that trust from someone who you know already, it makes everything a lot easier and the conversation is a lot easier as well.
“I know exactly what he’s like, I know how he is and how he works. I think it’s really good that we have that relationship.
“It’s very good for me that I can have someone to lean on straight away. It’s very important and I’m really looking forward to working with him this season.
“It’s the same with Martyn Margetson. I spoke to James Trafford at Burnley and he said nothing but good things about him when he was with him before the Euros.
“I’m really looking forward to working with someone of his pedigree, someone who has worked with the types of players he has.
“I feel like he’s only going to help not just me, but everyone else in the goalkeeping unit to improve their game. I’m very happy to have that experience and someone I can work with day-to-day.”
