Burnley have announced the signing of striker Andreas Hountondji from French club Caen for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old has put pen to paper over a four-year deal at Turf Moor and becomes the club's third new addition of the summer.

The Benin international scored 16 goals during a loan spell with Ligue 2 side Rodez last season.

“It’s a club that gives opportunities to young players so this is one of the big reasons I chose to be here, and I love English football," he said.

“I have spoken with the boss and it was quite a good discussion. We spoke about values, principles and the way we play. It was perfect for me.”

Hountondji joined Caen as a youngster and signed his first professional deal in 2019, making his senior debut a couple of years later.

He also had loan spells with Quevilly-Rouen and Orleans during the 2022/23 campaign and has won six caps for Benin on the international stage.

Hountondji bolsters Burnley's strike department after David Datro Fofano returned to parent club Chelsea.

Jay Rodriguez also signed a new one-year deal at Turf Moor earlier this summer.
