A primary school has been named as a perimeter board sponsor at an East Lancashire football club.
Hyndburn Park Primary School has sponsored one of the advertising boards at Accrington Stanley FC ahead of the upcoming 2024/25 EFL League Two season.
The school regularly takes part in the club’s big shirt giveaway and will be attending again this September as the initiative returns for an eighth consecutive year.
It has also expressed an interest in joining the ‘Walk to the Wham’ initiative as part of club owner Andy Holt’s donation of more than £90,000 worth of tickets to youngsters and their families for the new season.
Headteacher Joanne Hardwick said: “This is a really proud day for everyone involved at Hyndburn Park Primary School.
“Accrington Stanley is such a massive part of our local community, they run so many fantastic initiatives and we are so excited to continue being part of the club.
“It is great to see our board now in place at the Wham and it will also hopefully help us in attracting even more students to Hyndburn Park, where we do have some availability for the new school year.”
Ms Hardwick also heads up a group of Lancashire headteachers who regularly use the facilities at the football club for conferences and events, while the school also regularly attends events such as the Amazing Accrington Education Summit at the Wham Stadium.
