Hull City have received an overseas bid for Blackburn Rovers-linked defender Sean McLoughlin.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Ewood Park with a reported fee of 500K enough to sign the centre-back.

Rovers need to add defenders to their ranks this summer. Dom Hyam and Hayden Carter are John Eustace's only options with Championship experience. A move for Liam Cooper remains in the balance whilst a deal to bring Kyle McFadzean back to the club hasn't progressed.

Whether Rovers have half a million pounds to spend remains unclear, with Eustace working with a limited budget, though Semir Telalovic and Leopold Wahlstedt have both brought in fees this summer.

McLoughlin has rival interest from abroad and they have lodged a bid for the defender, according to vice-chairman Tan Kesler.

“I am so happy as it shows what a good process we have," he told BBC Radio Humberside

"We develop these players and put them in the market and a lot of clubs are interested.

"When we came in, we said we don’t want to sell any of our players and our chairman said it openly and I’m an advocate to it.

"But if the players want to go, we are more than happy to understand what the market is. All these links for us are justification of how well (good) job we have done. We have never put any price on our players.

"There is interest in Sean and Ryan (Longman). But for me, especially for Ryan, he’s coming back from a very successful season in my opinion and we’ve invested in him and he should - and he will - that our return on our investment (is) this season.

"I have spoken to him and he’s very focused, knowing the fact we expect well from him this season. But it's no secret clubs are coming in and asking and showing an interest in him. But for us, he should stay.
"(There’s) Nothing concrete, only Sean - an official offer from abroad.”

The Hull chief also confirmed they are in talks with Crystal Palace over a deal for winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. The forward is a Rovers transfer target having been on their radar for the past 12 months.

The Tigers have made a loan offer but a permanent transfer elsewhere in the Premier League is stalling any deal. It could be one that runs on late into the transfer window, with Rovers facing plenty of competition if they're to complete a deal.

"We are interested in Rak-Sakyi and so are like 15 other Championship clubs," he said.

"We made the best offer. Palace feel very comfortable with him playing for us but I think at the moment he's getting interest from another Premier League club.

"If he doesn't go somewhere in the Premier League permanently, I'm confident that I would like to see him with us and we will try to do everything to bring him in.

"We've spoken with the agent, we've spoken with the player and we're looking to have another conversation with the player.

"The club is just very comfortable with us, Crystal Palace. Thanks to Dougie (Freedman) and Steve (Parish), they're very supportive of the player's development with us so at this minute, it's about the waiting game a little bit."
