The highly anticipated Fantasy EFL game will be available to play from next season. Here are all the details you need.

Fantasy Premier League has been a huge success and supporters have been clamouring for an equivalent for clubs outside the top flight.

Their wish has finally come true ahead of the 2024/25 campaign and the EFL have now released some early information on the new game.

How does it work?

Fantasy EFL will feature more than 2,000 players from clubs across the Championship, League One and League Two.

It adopts an interesting twist on the existing game, which will see supporters pick seven players per week who they think will have a big impact on the pitch plus two clubs they are confident will win.

This is different to the FPL format, which sees players pick an XI from their existing squad of 15 (two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three attackers).

However, it appears that players will still pick a captain each week based on who they think will earn the most points.

The chip system also seems to feature in the new game. In FPL, players get to use one-off tokens throughout the season such as bench boost, free hit, triple captain and wildcard to increase their points.

It remains to be seen whether there will be any tweaks to the points system. In FPL, they are earned based on goals, assists, clean sheets and minutes played.

How to play

An official launch date has not yet been revealed but the new game will be ready to play in time for the new season, which kicks off on the weekend of August 10.

The EFL have confirmed that the game will be available online and as an app for IOS and Android users.
