Here is a round-up of the latest stories and tidbits from our Blackburn Rovers notebook.
Kyle McFadzean latest
Blackburn Rovers run the risk of losing out on Kyle McFadzean with the defender now a free agent.
John Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph at the weekend that Rovers were 'still in talks' with the 37-year-old and John Fleck. It's understood a deal has been agreed with McFadzean for some weeks but has yet to be signed.
Ewood Park remains the defender's first-choice and there is still some hope a deal will be signed. However, it's clear that as the weeks pass and McFadzean remains unattached, he could move elsewhere.
Rovers only have Hayden Carter and Dom Hyam as centre-backs with Championship experience. Connor O'Riordan and Pat Gamble played the second half of Saturday's friendly at Accrington Stanley.
Semir Telalovic club revealed
Eustace confirmed on Saturday that Semir Telalovic is in talks with another club about a move away from Rovers. That team is indeed 2. Bundesliga side, Ulm, as has been reported elsewhere.
Talks between the players and the club are still ongoing but it seems that his time at Ewood Park is coming to an end this summer.
Telalovic only played 300 minutes for Rovers last season and was scarcely used by Jon Dahl Tomasson and then Eustace.
Rovers look at GK trialist
Blackburn Rovers are taking a look at goalkeeper Jack Barrett, who is on trial with the club.
The 22-year-old was on the bench for Saturday's friendly against Accrington but didn't come on, with Joe Hilton in goal for the second half.
Barrett came through the ranks at Everton and was there from the age of nine. He made appearances in the Premier League 2 for them and spent some of last season on loan at Cavalry FC.
Rovers are still pushing to sign a senior replacement for Leopold Wahlstedt. They currently have Aynsley Pears, Hilton, Jordan Eastham, Nick Michalski, Felix Goodaard, Solomon Honor (U18) and Adam Khan (U18) on their books.
Trialist nets for Under-21s
Jack Hastings netted for the Under-21s against Hyde United on Saturday. Rovers lost 3-2 in the 21s first pre-season match of the summer.
Hastings is on trial from Northern Ireland side Larne. The forward scored 36 goals at Under-18 and Under-20 level last year for his boyhood club.
Rovers are keen to continue scouting for their Academy after the emergence of Igor Tyjon. Aodhan Doherty signed from Linfield last month.
Hastings signed his first professional deal with Larne in May this year and the club would therefore be eligible for a fee if Rovers pursue a deal. Like Doherty, he has represented Northern Ireland at youth level.
Gladwin retires
Former Blackburn Rovers midfield Ben Gladwin has retired from football aged 32.
Gladwin spent three years at Rovers but only made 10 appearances in the 2017/18 season. He then moved on MK Dons before joining Swindon Town and ending his career with Crawley Town.
He will now join Scott Lindsey's coaching team and said: "It's something I've known for a long time that I wanted to do, so I am very happy to get it started.
"I've been asked quite a lot if I am worried about retiring, or do I miss playing. It's probably not the answer that people want to hear, but, no, not loads. I've been so focused on coaching for quite a while now.”
