John Eustace has not made a decision on Blackburn Rovers' captaincy despite Dom Hyam taking the armband against Accrington Stanley.

Hyam was the leader of Rovers' team at the end of last season after Lewis Travis completed a loan move to Ipswich Town.

The midfielder is now back at Rovers and is expected to remain at the club. However, it's unclear whether he will resume his role as captain or whether Hyam will now retain the responsibilities.

Hyam was given the nod as captain against Accrington in Rovers' first pre-season outing at the weekend. Travis started in the same team, with John Buckley assuming the role for the second-half XI.

Eustace says no final decision has been made and that he will make a call closer to the start of the campaign.

"Lewis coming back to the club is great. I haven't decided who is going to be captain of the team yet.

"Dom did an outstanding job last season and I'll be looking at five or six different options in the games coming up."

Sam Szmodics was vice-captain to Hyam after Eustace left the club. Aynsley Pears and Ryan Hedges were also part of a leadership group that spoke to supporters in February.
