Semir Telalovic is in talks to leave Blackburn Rovers whilst John Eustace is hopeful of bringing in fresh faces to bolster his squad.

The striker didn't score in his debut season and found the adaptation to English football difficult after signing on deadline day last summer.

Telalovic signed on a three-year deal from Borussia Monchengladbach but is now likely to leave Ewood Park. He would be the second senior exit of the summer following the sale of Leopold Wahlstedt earlier this week.

It's understood the striker has flown out for talks with an unknown European club over a potential move. Rovers' head coach was unclear whether it would be a permanent or loan deal.

Eustace is hopeful Rovers can bring in some quality to bolster the squad himself and wants to build on the players he already had in the building.

"Semir is away, he has an opportunity to potentially leave the club," Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"He is talking to the club over the weekend and we will see how that progresses. I am not sure about all the finer details at the moment."

On Rovers' own transfer business, he added: "Hopefully (they can add soon). We know we need to add quality to the group.

"Everyone is working hard to do that. It's clear to the recruitment team what they have to work with.

"We have good people in the building to make things to get the right players that we need. We know we need to add quality to the group."

The Rovers head coach watched his team beat Accrington Stanley 2-1 in the first game of pre-season. Goals from Joe Rankin-Costello and Dilan Markanday were enough to secure the win.

Rovers fielded two entirely separate teams in each half, offering an opportunity for everyone to get 45 minutes under their belt.

That was the priority for Eustace, who insisted that improving fitness is the sole priority in these early weeks.

"The most important thing is for the lads to get their fitness, it's all about that at this stage," he said.

"We're only two weeks in, some of them only a week in. It was a good run out for the boys and the most important thing was for them to get that energy in their legs.

"It's about building them up slowly throughout the next five or six games."
