Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course. Remember, it's only pre-season!
FIRST HALF
Aynsley Pears - 7
No saves of note to do. Kicking was good.
Callum Brittain - 7
Looked dangerous down the right. Linked up well with Rankin-Costello.
Hayden Carter - 8
Probably Rovers' best performer. Won his duels and was calm on the ball.
Dom Hyam - 7
Wore the armband alongside Carter. Defended his area well.
Harry Pickering - 7
Didn't see loads of the ball as Rovers favoured the right side but was solid in his defensive work.
Sondre Tronstad - 7
A few nice passes and a couple of loose balls. That's what pre-season is for.
Lewis Travis - 7
Good to see Travis back in Rovers colours. Won his tackles and kept it simple.
Joe Rankin-Costello - 8
Scored the only goal of the first half, tapping in from a corner. Linked nicely in a new role on the right side of midfield.
Sam Szmodics - 7
Didn't see loads of the ball but had a good effort saved at the near post. Went off injured a minute before HT. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.
Tyrhys Dolan - 7
Had a few sights of goal. One well saved and another impressively blocked.
Sam Gallagher - 7
Led the line well. Won plenty of flick-ons and linked nicely with his team-mates.
SECOND HALF
Joe Hilton - 7
Couldn't have done anything about the goal. Handling was good.
Leo Duru - 8
Looked a real livewire down the right-hand side, setting up a few good opportunities. Liked the look of him.
Connor O'Riordan - 7
Solid defensively and looked comfortable on the ball. Didn't have much to do.
Pat Gamble - 7
Won his headers alongside O'Riordan. Wasn't overly tested.
Jake Batty - 7
Tried to overlap and offer a threat in the final third.
Jalil Saadi - 7
Neat and tidy in midfield.
Jake Garrett - 7
Some nice touches and turn which saw him get smashed a couple of times.
John Buckley - 7
A nice ball over the top which created the second goal.
Dilan Markanday - 8
Looked lively with Duru down the right with some nice link-up. Scored from close range.
Georgie Gent - 8
Looked really lively off the left side, driving at his defender at every opportunity. A few nice crosses.
Jack Vale - 7
Ran the line well. Selflessly passed to Markanday when he could've shot.
Substitutes:
Igor Tyjon (Szmodics, 44')
Wasn't allowed back on in the second half after playing 30 seconds in the first. Mental for a friendly.
Tom Atcheson (Gamble, 84')
Came on for the final five.
Unused substitutes: Barrett.
Referee: Paul Marsden
Attendance: 3,278
