There remains hope that Kyle McFadzean will stay at Blackburn Rovers after agreeing a deal in principle over a new contract.
The 37-year-old centre-back made his intentions clear that he wanted to stay at Ewood Park beyond the end of his current deal, which officially ends on June 30.
McFadzean exclusively told The Lancashire Telegraph last month that he'd received other offers close to his home in Yorkshire but wanted to stay at Ewood Park.
Head coach John Eustace has similarly reiterated his desire to tie down the experienced Championship stalwart and talks have been ongoing throughout the summer.

The Lancashire Telegraph understands that a deal in principle has been agreed between the two parties but has not yet been signed, at the time of writing.
It's understood that McFadzean has made Rovers his first-choice destination, having received interest elsewhere. Those clubs remain in the background but there remains hope he will be a Blackburn player come next season.
McFadzean's current deal runs until June 30. However, until fresh terms are signed, it's unclear whether he'll be returning for pre-season training.
Rovers' players are back in for testing on Friday before their first official day of pre-season on Monday. In an ideal scenario, McFadzean's contract would be signed this week to avoid any doubt about him re-joining the squad.
Lewis Travis will be part of the group after his loan spell at Ipswich Town. Rovers released footage of him working with John Buckley, Harry Leonard and Zak Gilsenan at the Senior Training Centre in advance of the team's return date.
John Fleck is expected to be back for pre-season in a bid to earn a new contract. Rovers have been in discussion with the 32-year-old, who underwent shin surgery in February.
