Blackburn Rovers players don't return for pre-season until next Monday but that hasn't stopped some of their squad getting ahead.

John Eustace's team will be back in for standard testing on Friday before the first day of pre-season work begins after the weekend.

However, some of the team have been back at the training ground to get ahead in the off-season.

Ryan Hedges was pictured working with trainers in Dubai last week and he's been around the Senior Training Centre as he continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury.

Similarly, Harry Leonard and Zak Gilsenan have been working with coaches to improve their sharpness. Leonard missed the last two months of the campaign with a back injury but is fit again and hoping to impress.

Similarly, Gilsenan had an ankle problem which restricted him at the end of last term. He's now ready to go ahead of what could be a breakthrough season.

John Buckley's injury-hit season was a disappointment for him and so he's been back early to partake in some sessions, alongside captain Lewis Travis.

The midfielder is back from his loan at Ipswich Town and will report for pre-season duty. Travis has also been working with other personal trainers to get himself in top condition for the upcoming campaign.

The 26-year-old has two years left on his contract and there is transfer interest from other Championship clubs. It's understood he's held talks with John Eustace about staying at Rovers too.

Rovers shared clips of the four players working together in a small session ahead of the group's return next week. The four players were involved in some fitness drills and ball work with coaches at the training ground.
