Blackburn Rovers are back for pre-season but the transfer market is still moving slowly across the Championship.
John Eustace's side are one of many clubs yet to make a senior signing this summer. That hasn't stopped the transfer rumour mill though.
Over the summer, there have been plenty of faces linked with a move to Ewood Park. Some with credibility, others less so.
Here's a recap of every player linked with Rovers, the latest information and our verdict on the likelihood of a deal.
John Ruddy - Free agent
WHEN: April 13 - Alan Nixon reported that Eustace was keen to be reunited with Birmingham 'keeper Ruddy.
VERDICT: We reported on April 16 that those links were wide of the mark. Since then, Rovers recruitment team has drastically changed, though we have not heard anything to suggest Ruddy is now a target. Birmingham have signed Ryan Allsop so he won't be returning there.
Tom Cannon - Leicester City
WHEN: May 5 - Alan Nixon reported that Rovers were interested in Tom Cannon.
VERDICT: So they should be! Cannon would be our number one striker target, as we detailed in our 'Summer Scouting' series. Rovers have held an interest before but nothing has been close. Leicester will likely loan him out but there will be a queue of clubs looking at him in the Championship.
Theo Blair - Motherwell
WHEN: May 21 - The Daily Mail claimed Bristol City and Rovers 'lead the chase' for Motherwell striker Blair, valued at £1million.
VERDICT: Rovers want to sign a striker this summer and need to add goals to the team. Again, you'd raise concerns with how many different clubs have been linked with his signature. It is a target area, though.
Gregg Doherty - Free agent
WHEN: May 23 - The Daily Record in Scotland reported that Rovers are keen to sign Doherty after his exit from Hull City.
VERDICT: Doherty has Championship experience and could be an astute signing for some clubs. But Rovers are pretty well stocked with five central midfielders, plus John Fleck to consider. If it did happen, it would be pretty low risk but it's not a priority area at the moment.
Josh Murphy - Free agent
WHEN: May - TEAMtalk reported that Stoke and Rovers had joined the 'busy chase' to sign Murphy as a free agent with his Oxford deal expiring.
VERDICT: I think every Championship club under the sun has been linked with Murphy, which raises doubt immediately. His stock is pretty high after his match-winning goals in the League One play-off final, so I'm sure plenty are interested and Murphy's team are checking out the market.
At 29, he's older than Rovers' usual target age. There are question marks about his track record over the last five years too, despite a very impressive six months with Oxford. I can see why there could be interest, especially as a free agent, but there are red flags too.
Alife Gilchrist - Chelsea
WHEN: May 31 - Journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Rovers, Preston and Leeds were all interested in the Chelsea defender.
VERDICT: Rovers could need to sign a right-back this summer if Joe Rankin-Costello is used in midfield. Gilchrist makes sense profile wise but I doubt any deal would be concluded until much later in the window.
Franco Umeh-Chibueze - Crystal Palace
WHEN: May 26 - Alan Nixon reported that Umeh is 'fancied' by Rovers.
VERDICT: Plausible. Rovers have looked at other young Palace talent before in Malcolm Ebiowei and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. Any decision on the forward would likely come later in the window.
Will Evans - Newport Country
WHEN: June 21 - The Mirror reported Rovers and other Championship clubs are 'tracking' the forward.
VERDICT: The Lancashire Telegraph understands that several second-tier sides have enquired about Evans but no bids have been made. Likely to be on many club's lists, including Rovers, but not as a first-choice target. Nothing remotely close.
Paik Seung-ho - Birmingham City
WHEN: June 23 - Alan Nixon claimed Rovers are 'plotting' a move for the Blues midfielder.
VERDICT: Another Birmingham City player linked with Rovers. The truth is, even if he's on a longer list, I don't think midfield is a priority for Eustace. He wants to add goals to the team, first and foremost. Birmingham want to keep Paik too and so it wouldn't be an easy deal to do.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi - Crystal Palace
WHEN: June 23 - Alan Nixon reported Luton and Rovers are amongst Championship admirers for the winger.
VERDICT: Yes, I'm sure they are. Rovers were interested in signing Rak-Sakyi last summer and in January too, on loan. Palace decided to keep him and after an injury-hit season, a move to the second tier makes plenty of sense. If he is available, I'm sure there will be a long list ready to sign him.
Augustus Kargbo - Cesena
WHEN: June 24 - Italian outlet TuttoMercato reported that Rovers are interested in the Sierra Leone striker.
VERDICT: One of the more bizarre rumours in the window. He scored 10 goals in 33 games in Serie C to help his team win promotion. He's contracted until 2026 so it would require a fee. I'm not sure I can see this one materialising.
