John Eustace would like to see Kyle McFadzean sign a new contract at Blackburn Rovers.
The defender agreed a short-term deal with the club in January, leaving Coventry City after five years in the Midlands. Playing time was a big motivator for the 37-year-old.
Gregg Broughton told The Lancashire Telegraph that McFadzean's deal doesn't include any clauses that would trigger an extension. Therefore, fresh terms would have to be agreed this summer.
Ahead of his reunion with Coventry, McFadzean told local media that he'd love to continue his career at Ewood Park.

Eustace, in turn, admitted he'd like to keep the experienced centre-back around too. The head coach spoke glowingly about his impact in the dressing room as well as his contributions off the pitch too.
"I think Kyle's leadership qualities are there for everyone to see," he said.
"He has been outstanding since I have been at the football club. He came in straight away and made a big difference. Then we changed our shape and he had to be patient.
"He came on against Leeds and was terrific again. People like that are worth their weight in gold. The experience, know-how and little chats in the dressing room, on the training pitch.
"It's stuff managers and coaches can't say or do. He has made a huge difference and improved the defence just by being around the group.
"Kyle has been fantastic, we have spoken about having more quality and experienced players around the group to help and develop. He is one I would like to keep for sure, if we're allowed to do that."
Scott Wharton is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury. It's unlikely he will feature again this calendar year.
Dom Hyam has one year left on his contract this summer. Hayden Carter is tied down long-term whilst Connor O'Riordan only arrived in the January transfer window.
Wharton's injury means Rovers are likely to try to sign a centre-back this summer, even if they do extend McFadzean's contract by a further year.
