Sam Szmodics enjoyed a successful night at Rovers’ annual End of Season Awards ceremony at Ewood Park.
Szmodics won the Player of the Year prize following an impressive campaign, having scored 31 goals in all competitions so far.
The Irish international is the top scorer in the Championship on 25 goals – five more than second-place Adam Armstrong.
He is also the joint-top scorer in the FA Cup along with Coventry striker Ellis Simms, who played in six ties compared to Szmodics’ three.
The 28-year-old became the first Rovers player to hit 30 goals in a single season since Alan Shearer after his late winner at Leeds earlier this month.
Szmodics also won the Players’ Player of the Season Award after receiving a vote from every single one of his team-mates.
The Goal of the Season prize went to Ryan Hedges for his moment of magic during the 1-0 win at Watford in August.
Hedges beat his man with a clever flick and juggled the ball twice before squeezing past Daniel Bachmann at his near post to secure three points on the road.
Callum Brittain’s goal in the 2-1 win at Millwall was runner-up, while Harry Leonard’s strike against West Brom on the opening day came third.
Jake Garrett was named Young Player of the Season. The 21-year-old midfielder has played 27 times since the start of the campaign, scoring four goals.
Sondre Tronstad claimed the Newcomer of the Season Award. The midfielder has become an important member of the squad since arriving on a free transfer from Vitesse Arnhem in the summer, making 39 appearances in all competitions.
The award for most Player of the Match trophies throughout the season was shared between Szmodics and Scott Wharton, who received the accolade four times each.
Skipper Dom Hyam won the Community Contribution Award for his commitment to Rovers’ Community Trust and the club’s wider projects, including his role as an ambassador for Benefit Mankind.
Lucy Shepherd was crowned Player of the Season for Rovers Women, while Alex Brooks won the Players' Player of the Season prize.
Hannah Coan claimed the Young Player of the Season Award and Tyler Toland was named Newcomer of the Season. Goal of the Season went to Millie Chandarana for her super strike against Charlton and Meg Hornby picked up the most Player of the Match trophies during the campaign.
Finally, the Special Club Award went to George Root in recognition of his contribution to Rovers and the Community Trust, of which he is a trustee.
