Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.
Aynsley Pears - 3
A really tough afternoon for Pears after his heroics at Elland Road. He won't be happy with his role in the opener and the third is just a horrible individual error.
Callum Brittain - 6
Probably the best of an otherwise shaky-looking defence. Some nice touches on the ball.
Hayden Carter - 5
Was caught out a few times trying to see the ball out and didn't.
Dom Hyam - 4
Should have been sharper for the first goal but took too long to clear it. Nowhere near as assured as last weekend.
Scott Wharton - 6
Most of the bigger issues came down the opposite side, in truth. He was forced off with a worrying-looking injury in the second half.
Harry Pickering - 5
Another guilty of giving away possession too cheaply. Want to see more in the final third when he plays as a wing-back.
Sondre Tronstad - 4
Uncharacteristically sloppy in midfield. Gave the ball away far too cheaply, though he wasn't the only one.
Joe Rankin-Costello - 6
Battled hard in the midfield but Rovers struggled to sustain any real momentum on the ball.
Sam Szmodics - 7
Took his goal really well, with the conviction of a man full of confidence. Quiet otherwise.
Tyrhys Dolan - 5
Flashes of nice footwork and a bit of spark but they were too fleeting to make a real impact.
Sam Gallagher - 6
Worked hard up front but the service into him was lacking.
Substitutes:
John Buckley (Tronstad, 67') - 5
Came on to try and add more control in midfield but it didn't really materialise.
Dilan Markanday (Wharton, 74') - 6
Had a few runs at his man after being introduced in an attacking change.
Ben Chrisene (Pickering, 85') - N/A
Part of a late triple change.
Andrew Moran (Dolan, 85') - N/A
Back from injury for a few minutes.
Yasin Ayari (Rankin-Costello, 85') - N/A
Didn't have much time to make a difference.
Unused substitutes: Wahlstedt, McFadzean, Koumetio, Telalovic.
Referee: Josh Smith
Attendance: 21,718
