Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Sunderland in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
Aynsley Pears will be looking to bounce back from his error against Ipswich at the Stadium of Light.
Defence
Harry Pickering limped off in the closing stages of Friday's match but will hopefully be fit to resume at left-back.
Kyle McFadzean could be fit for a place on the bench but John Eustace is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the defence, who performed well again.
Midfield
John Buckley wasn't ruled out of the match but feels unlikely to start after missing Friday's defeat. Joe Rankin-Costello could continue in that role or Yasin Ayari might come in, if Eustace is wary of overloading the former after injury.
Attack
Sam Gallagher was absent due to illness and so it is not out of the question that he could return to play at Sunderland.
Ben Chrisene feels most likely to make way, whether that's for Gallagher or perhaps Andrew Moran, if the big striker isn't available.
Predicted Blackburn Rovers team: Pears; Brittain, Hyam, Wharton, Pickering; Tronstad, Rankin-Costello; Hedges, Szmodics, Dolan; Gallagher.
