Chorley boxer Jack Catterall has seen his much-anticipated clash with Josh Taylor postponed for a month after his opponent picked up a training injury.
Promoters Matchroom Sport released a statement on Thursday night which read: "Josh Taylor has suffered an injury in his training camp and his upcoming fight with Jack Catterall on April 27 has been postponed.
"The fight has been immediately rescheduled for May 25 at the same venue in Leeds - live on DAZN.
"Tickets remain valid for the revised date with refunds for the sold-out event at the First Direct Arena also available, in line with the terms and conditions of our ticket agency partners."
While the delay is frustrating for light welterweight Catterall and his fans, the 30-year-old took to social media to say his focus is undeterred.
Commenting on X, Catterall said: "Apologies to all the fans I’ll be there May 25th.
"All he’s done is stalled the beating he’s going to get and I promise you all I will rid this guy out of boxing once and for all."
