John Eustace felt Blackburn Rovers' point against Millwall was a positive one and believes a win is around the corner for his side.

The head coach has not won any of his first six matches but Rovers have only suffered defeat twice in that time. Eustace has made the team more difficult to beat but they were unable to create enough chances to get past the Lions.

It could've been far worse had Sam Szmodics not equalised following Michael Obafemi's opener, the only real effort on goal Millwall had.

The table remains incredibly tight with two points separating 16th and 23rd in the battle to stay up. Eustace believes that picking up points regularly is vital and although he wanted to win, he was happy with the draw.

"It wasn't a classic game, of course it wasn't," Eustace admitted.

"The lads have shown fantastic character and togetherness to come from behind against a difficult opponent. I was pleased with the reaction, we dominated possession without testing their goalkeeper.

"Millwall are on the back of beating Southampton and Watford. We have no divine right to win the game but we have the right to work hard and stick together. I think it's a good point in the end.

"There are 10 big games to go. It's about not losing, getting the correct results and showing the right signs.

"It's a horrible goal from our side, I think we need to defend that better. We spoke about Millwall's threats, we set up well from their set-pieces. On that one occasion, it was a very poor goal to concede. We've shown fantastic character to come back.

"I think that's seven or eight games where we've lost twice. The boys have been fantastic since I came in."

Rovers have won only two of their last 18 Championship games which has sparked concern from supporters, especially with a tough run-in looming.

However, the head coach is adamant there is a three-point haul around the corner because of the commitment his team are showing.

"I think everyone can see the commitment is there," he said.

"We are doing the right things, we look competitive in every game so far. I haven't felt we deserved to lose any of the games.

"That's a massive plus for me when we're on the back of a large run of games where we were losing. Nobody has a divine right to win a game, you have to earn it.

"Everyone is putting in 100 per cent commitment to do that. It's there to see, the squad has been fantastic since we came in. We have another chance on Saturday to get three points."
