John Eustace has hinted that Blackburn Rovers will continue with a three-man defence in the coming weeks.

Rovers often played a back four under Jon Dahl Tomasson but after signing three centre-backs in the January transfer window, have played a back five in the two games since he left.

Kyle McFadzean has played a crucial role in the centre of that defence, adding experience and Championship know-how to the group.

Eustace will go with the system that suits his team best and, at the moment, he feels that is a back three.

"We'll have to wait and see on that, it's a starting block. The lads have looked very solid over the last few games," he told The Lancashire Telegraph.

"We have conceded a lot of goals so it's important to come in and steady the ship. 

"With big McFadzean in there, it helps the lads around him. It's about getting the best out of the group at the moment.

"That certainly looks like that is the way forward. I know what he can bring to the football team, he's been very successful at Coventry over the last five or six years.

"He's a leader and I think you can see Dom's performances have been very good in the last couple of games. Young Ben (Chrisene) too, it's been a great learning experience for him. He hasn't played many games at all.

"He needs help around him as well and Cal will do that, we're pleased he's here."
