Dom Hyam insisted Blackburn Rovers were 'frustrated' by their narrow defeat to Birmingham City after losing 1-0 at St Andrew's.
Rovers fell to a late reverse against Tony Mowbray's side after Andre Dozzell netted 13 minutes from time.
It proved to be the decisive goal for Birmingham, who had created the best opportunities in the game and restricted Rovers to very little.
That said, Semir Telalovic could've snatched a point for Rovers in the dying moments. Whilst that might've been unjust on Birmingham, it would've been a vital point for Rovers to extend their gap to the bottom three, which currently stands at seven points.
VERDICT: Eustace comments prove Rovers' issues haven't just disappeared
Hyam admitted it wasn't Rovers' day and there is plenty to improve on. However, he also stressed the importance of bouncing back with so many matches in a short space of time.
"It's frustrating, I think it was a typical Championship game, it was quite scrappy," he said.
"When it's like that, it needs to be a nil-nil or 1-1. We will learn and go again on Saturday. The goal was scrappy, I just don't think it was our day.
"We didn't put them under enough pressure. A few waves from them and if they kept attacking, they were going to score. We will learn from it, we can't get too down.
"It's the Championship, we have another game in three or four games. From experience, you can't get too high or too low. It's one we can learn from.
"The gaffer is new, he's only been here for a few days. We will learn and move on. The gaffer's main message has been about being a family, being together and reacting when things don't go too well for us.
"The Championship is gruelling, we have another opportunity around the corner."
Eustace has only had one training session with the team, having met them on Saturday morning. With so many games crammed into the next four weeks, his messages will have to be clear with limited time on the training pitches.
So far, the coaching team have used meetings to convey their key instructions, working with the squad in different groups to maximise contact time.
Hyam revealed that the group have discussed how to improve in the short, medium and long term but reiterated the focus is on picking up points, starting against Preston North End at Deepale in Eustace's first Lancashire derby.
"With a game every other day, it's all meetings and classroom things for them to get their messages across," he explained.
"Unfortunately, he hasn't got too much time on the training pitch at the minute but that will come. In the meantime, it's a lot of stuff trying to take it on board in meetings and in units, defenders, attackers, things like that.
"At the minute, it's about getting points on the board. I think from the first chat, he's been very positive and very in the moment.
"He's been talking about short-term, winning games of football. Medium-term, pushing up the table and then long-term seeing what we can do higher up the table.
"We can't get ahead of ourselves, we're playing every other day. We won't get too down and we'll go again.
"Before he came in, eight games without a win and then we beat Stoke. There are positives from this week, if we can get a positive result on Saturday and take six points from the week that would be an improvement.
"It's a massive game against Preston. We normally do alright there, touch wood. We'll go there again with a big following, be together and hopefully get some points."
