Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Stoke City in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
Aynsley Pears will be between the sticks for Rovers. The 25-year-old has made an impressive comeback from injury in the last three games.
Defence
Hayden Carter, Callum Brittain and Harry Pickering remain on the sideline so it could be much of the same in defence.
Joe Rankin-Costello, Dom Hyam, Scott Wharton and Ben Chrisene are likely to line up across the back line.
Midfield
John Buckley made his return from a long-term shoulder injury for the Under-21s on Monday night. It's not out of the realms of possibility he could be on the bench.
Jake Garrett could come in for Andrew Moran in the centre of midfield to stiffen things up. Sondre Tronstad will partner him.
Attack
The question mark remains over Sam Szmodics after he went off against Queens Park Rangers. With off-field issues taking centre stage this week, it's unclear whether he's fit.
My gut feeling would be that it was only a precaution and he'll be available for Rovers. They need their top-scorer fit and ready.
Tyrhys Dolan, Arnor Sigurdsson and Sam Gallagher should make up for the forward line once again.
Predicted Blackburn Rovers team: Pears; Rankin-Costello, Hyam, Wharton, Chrisene; Tronstad, Garrett; Dolan, Szmodics, Sigurdsson; Gallagher.
