Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Wrexham AFC in the FA Cup
Goalkeeper
Aynsley Pears is expected to retain his place in goal as he continues his comeback from injury. He impressed against Huddersfield Town with an assured performance.
Defence
Tomasson will have to make at least two changes to his defence after long-term injuries to Harry Pickering and Hayden Carter.
If the head coach wants to stick with a back three, Joe Rankin-Costello could come in as an emergency centre-back. Dom Hyam and Scott Wharton are the only fit, senior options with Connor O'Riordan cup-tied.
Alternatively, Rankin-Costello could play right-back in a four-man defence, with Callum Brittain either as a wing-back or a winger depending on the shape. Ben Chrisene will be on the other side regardless.
Midfield
Adam Wharton is likely to start for Rovers despite intense speculation about his future. Tomasson is confident the teenager won't be phased by interest from Crystal Palace.
Sondre Tronstad will partner him but Jake Garrett could make way for Andrew Moran in the middle if Tomasson wants a slightly more attacking option against League Two opposition.
Attack
In attack, Sam Gallagher and Sam Szmodics are well positioned to lead the line. Arnor Sigurdsson is also in contention but he would most likely replace Moran, with Szmodics potentially dropping deeper.
Predicted Blackburn Rovers team: Pears; Brittain, Rankin-Costello, Hyam, Wharton, Chrisene; Tronstad, Wharton, Moran; Szmodics, Gallagher.
