Millwall head coach Joe Edwards believes Michael Obafemi’s loan move is a good fit for both parties.
Republic of Ireland internaitonal Obafemi will spend the remainder of the campaign at the Den as he looks to get minutes under his belt.
The 23-year-old has made a couple of appearances off the bench in the Premier League since returning from injury.
He joined the Clarets from Swansea in January 2023, initially on a loan deal before making the move permanent in the summer.
Edwards told the club website: "Michael is a player that we have been well aware of. He has played at Premier League level and Championship level and scored goals at both.
"We became aware that he could leave Burnley on loan and after speaking to him, he was keen to come and join us.
“It worked well for both parties, so we were happy to make it happen quickly. I am delighted to have him here."
He added: "I have been saying since the lead-up to the transfer window that there were two things I was looking for - people who will improve us and have an impact as well having more athleticism in our squad.
"If you are talking about that, Michael has got that in abundance. He has shown when he has played at this level before that he is one of the most explosive players you can get at this level.
"He has had some issues with injury so we will have to manage that well, but we believe we are able to do that so he can be a big addition for us."
Millwall find themselves 18th in the Championship table following Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Queens Park Rangers. Edwards' side are back in action this weekend when they host Preston North End.
