Blackburn Rovers will be without Scott Wharton against Hull City with the defender ruled out for two weeks with a calf injury.
The defender missed the defeat to Huddersfield Town after picking up the knock against Watford. Wharton has now been for a scan and will be back in the next 10 days to two weeks, according to Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Sam Szmodics came through the Boxing Day clash unscathed, as did Dom Hyam and Niall Ennis, starting back-to-back games after a long time out.
"We got the latest with Scott Wharton which is a calf issue. He will be out for ten days, two weeks. What is positive is that Sam Szmodics came through the game against Huddersfield without feeling his injury that kept him out against Watford.
"That's positive. I have needed to rotate a little bit to keep things fresh in the last few games. It's a great period with all the games.
"Dom (Hyam) came through ok, first game he asked to be taken off and then against Huddersfield I took him off because it was better for him. Niall got more minutes which is positive."
In terms of the long-term injuries, Rovers have Aynsley Pears, Joe Rankin-Costello and Ryan Hedges outside doing light work on the grass away from the main group.
The trio remain several weeks away from being in contention to play but there rehabilitation is heading in the right direction, at least.
"We have Aynsley Pears who has been outside starting to get involved slowly and slowly," Tomasson said.
"It will be a couple of weeks until he is back involved. Sam Barnes is out, Joe Rankin-Costello is out but he is weeks away, still maybe four to seven weeks still.
"Ryan Hedges is out and not ready after a long period. Sam Gallagher and Tyrhys Dolan are out too.
"They are moving in the right direction, we know when you've had an operation or you've been out for a long time, it takes time to hit all the physical numbers before you can be involved with the team.
"They are not involved now and it will take weeks before they're involved."
