Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Hull City in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
Leopold Wahlstedt will keep his place in goal despite making high-profile mistakes in his last two matches. Aynsley Pears is expected back in the New Year.
Defence
Scott Wharton remains unavailable for Rovers after injuring his calf against Watford.
There could be a change at centre-back with James Hill pushing to partner Dom Hyam in the centre of the defence. Hayden Carter was below his usual standards at Huddersfield and could drop out for a breather. The defender has started every Championship game he's been available for this season.
Similarly, Lewis Travis might come in at right-back for Callum Brittain, who wasn't at his best on Boxing Day. The captain has filled in at full-back this season and might get the nod.
Midfield
Jake Garrett seems a certainty to come into midfield after being used as a half-time change at the John Smith's Stadium. Sondre Tronstad is most vulnerable to dropping out.
Adam Wharton will keep his place with Sam Szmodics likely to be the third man in that midfield trio.
Attack
Andrew Moran should drop to the bench after an extended run of poor form. The teenager needs a rest and will go through ups and downs but needs to be taken out of the side.
In his place, Dilan Markanday could make his first league start since October. Arnor Sigurdsson will probably keep his place on the left.
Up front, three starts in six days will be too much for Niall Ennis. Semir Telalovic played half an hour against Huddersfield but is yet to start a Championship game so Harry Leonard will probably get the nod.
Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Wahlstedt; Travis, Hill, Hyam, Pickering; A.Wharton, Garrett, Szmodics; Markanday, Sigurdsson, Leonard.
