Huddersfield Town boss Darren Moore admitted they tried to exploit Blackburn Rovers on the counter-attack in their 3-0 win on Boxing Day.
Jon Dahl Tomasson's side produced their worst performance of the season and were well-beaten by the relegation-threatened Terriers.
Rovers were unable to match Huddersfield's intensity off the ball, losing their individual battles across the pitch. They lacked any cohesion in the final third and ultimately deserved their 3-0 reverse.
It was an incredibly disappointing day for Tomasson, who apologised to supporters after the defeat with 3,000 away fans making the journey down the M62.

Reflecting on the victory for his side, Moore admitted that Huddersfield targeted Rovers in transition, knowing they would dominate the ball. When they won it back, there was space for them to attack into, which they made the most of.
“The biggest thing for us today, we knew Blackburn are a very, very good fluid team with the ball, they move it around really well but we knew the transitions would be massive today," Moore told the media.
“We knew if we could get part one right in terms of our work off the ball, we knew when it turned over there would be areas to exploit and we managed to do that.”
He added: “It’s about changing the mindset of the club and the perception and us as a group of players, fans, and everything else. We just want to continue looking up the league and seeing who we can catch above.
“That’s got to be the mindset really, in terms of it was a good three points today, and we focus on Friday for another real rough encounter, another good team coming into town and for myself and the group, we know we’re under no illusions how difficult that game is going to be.”
With Rovers falling behind after 25 minutes, after Leopold Wahlstedt allowed Jahiem Headley's shot to squirm under him, it caused them to chase the game which allowed even more space in transition moments.
